Comparison of Blood Cells Parameters and Complete Blood Count in Diabetic Patients: A Cross-sectional Study

Background and Aim: Diabetes is a type of metabolic disorder characterized by increased blood glucose, which due to insulin resistance, deficiency, or both. Changes in cell parameters diabetes are controversial. The present study aimed assess the diabetic patients compared healthy individuals.
 Methods: This cross-sectional was performed on 540 cases (270 270 individuals) over 20 years old who were referred clinics affiliated Semnan University Medical Sciences, Semnan, Iran, 2018. complete count (CBC) assessed both groups, demographic information also collected via questionnaires. All analyses SPSS software (version 22).
 Results: In terms gender, majority participants (61.2%) female. white (WBC) significantly higher than that control group (P<0.001), hemoglobin (HGB) level lower (P=0.009). There no significant difference other indices between groups. gender HGB, red (RBC) count, platelets (PLT) (P<0.001). Moreover, HBG RBC less with longer duration (P<0.001).
 Conclusion: obtained results pointed statistically some hematological non-diabetic individuals. More studies needed clarify causal relationship these indices.
